Yamaha's M1: A Rider's Dream?
Pramac's MotoGP star, Jack Miller, has some intriguing insights into Yamaha's M1 bike. He rates it highly among the premier class bikes he's raced, calling it a 'special motorcycle'. But here's where it gets controversial: Miller's riding style doesn't align with the M1 on paper, yet he's made it work, achieving both impressive and disappointing results.
With a diverse MotoGP career spanning Honda, Ducati, KTM, and now Yamaha, Miller's experience is vast. He's won races on both Honda and Ducati, and his transition to Yamaha marked a new era with an inline-four bike. In 2025, Miller faced a challenging campaign with Pramac, finishing 17th in the standings. Despite this, he consistently praised the M1's front-end performance.
When asked to compare the Yamaha to other bikes, Miller said, 'It's a good motorcycle. Every year, we go faster, and the M1 is a special one. I'm fortunate to ride it, and I'm glad I could make it work for my style.'
And this is the part most people miss: Miller's ability to adapt and make the M1 work for him, despite initial doubts. It's a testament to his skill and determination.
Miller will continue with Pramac in 2026, playing a key role in developing Yamaha's new V4 bike. His extensive experience with V4 machinery was a deciding factor in securing his contract extension with Pramac.
So, is the M1 truly a rider's dream, or is it a bike that requires a unique skill set to master? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss!
